When you live long
and the years keep going by
they say the reason time seems to move faster
is because it affects how much time you sense passing
It’s also because the rate that one’s brain
receives stimuli decreases.
Scenery you’ve never seen.
Scents you’ve never smelled.
Music you’ve never heard.
Ingredients you’ve never eaten.
The longer you live
the amount of new emotional excitement
and discoveries decrease
because you already know them all.
